Courtney~Friendship Cristian Senior 2014
The first time I met Courtney, her mom, and brother it was POURING rain and we were sitting in a parking lot hoping the skies would clear. The skies didn’t let up, but it did give me a chance to get to know them a little. Courtney is amazing! She recently just got back from a mission trip and wants to be a nurse in the mission fields when she is out of school. She is extremely funny, has such a kind and giving heart, doesn’t take herself too seriously, easy to talk to, and knows how to work a camera for sure. My friend Joy said it best when describing her by saying “she has the most amazing glow of anyone that I know”—-what a compliment! We decided to meet the very next afternoon and lucky for us the sky and weather were great! We got a few shots with her brother first then we were off exploring Lebanon and her awesome back yard!!!
There are too many pictures from this session so this post is a long one~
Courtney~sister, you have got it going on!!! You helped get my creative spark going. I have been so excited about these pictures this week, thank you for that.
Enjoy your senior year and the best of luck to you~I am sure you’re going to do AMAZING things!!!!

“I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them”. ~The Office
Cheerleading and SCHS has a very special place in my heart. I cheered for the Owls for 4 years and was voted Most School Spirit for senior superlatives. I BLED black and gold!!!! The memories of the games, pep rallies, SCHS band coming down that hill, making signs, practices on hot summer mornings, cheer camps, the friendships I made, and that fight song (that I can still do in my sleep) are some of my favorite high school memories. I can still sing that alma mater and might tear up just thinking about it.
When my friend Olivia contacted me to photograph her cheerleaders, I won’t lie–I was GIDDY! I wanted to do them, but stay true to my style of photography. I remember my cheer pics (oh brother). I didn’t want these girls to look back and say “oh my” like I do. Just because they are school cheer pics, doesn’t mean they have to be stiff and formal. I envisioned shooting them almost like I shoot my seniors, just in cheer uniforms. I wanted up close pics that showed just how cute they are and also showed their outgoing personalities. I am in love with the results I got and I think the girls will be pumped too.
SC girls, even though you made me feel old and fat (HAHA) I LOVED working with you all. You were all so sweet, listened when I gave directions, and you were all so polite. I wish you all the best of luck this school year. Soak it in, love on your friends, be nice to your mommas and daddies–they love you more than you know ,be kind, laugh, study, and don’t sweat the small stuff.
A special thanks to my friend (and cousin) Karen Hackett who assisted me–She and I cheered together way back when and still remain close–I love ya Karen!!
